Stephanie, a mother of four beautiful children, found herself transformed beyond her role as a mom. Her firstborn, Kai, brought immense joy and love into her life, but his journey was not without challenges. Diagnosed with a congenital heart defect shortly after birth, Kai’s life was cut short at just six weeks old due to medical complications. Despite this loss, Stephanie and her husband, James, made a heartfelt promise to each other: to live every day in honor of their son.
A few months after Kai’s first birthday, Stephanie and James welcomed their second child, Alena. Alena became a big sister to twin sisters, Leela and Etta, just a few days before her fourth birthday.
In addition to her role as a devoted mother, Stephanie dedicated over two decades to the developmental disability field. Her career began as a direct support person and culminated in her position as the director of a children’s behavioral program. Throughout her career, she worked with both children and adults, gaining valuable insights into their needs and challenges. After the birth of her twins, Stephanie made an early “retirement” from her professional life.
Stephanie’s world was shattered when doctors informed her of her son’s diagnosis. The late nights and early mornings were filled with grief and worry, as she grappled with the life that once was and should have been. The terror she felt as she watched a stranger wheel her son through the operating room doors, knowing that his life was in the surgeon’s hands, was indescribable. Finally, she had to make the heart-wrenching decision to say goodbye.
Stephanie and her family are committed to providing support and easing the chaos during these difficult times. They are honored to be working with Clemy’s Crew to make a positive impact and help others navigate similar challenges.
