The Hemmingsons Experience

Most people will thankfully never have to experience what it is like to have a medically complex child or spend an extended period of time in the hospital. But when you do, you quickly realize how difficult it can be.

Our 4-year-old son spent a year and a half in the hospital after a very complicated heart surgery and later suffered a cardiac arrest that completely changed our lives. My husband had to leave his job, which was our family’s primary income, so that he could stay out of state with our son, while I was home caring for our two other children, who were only 18 months and 6 years old at the time.

After being away for so long, finally being airlifted home was incredibly emotional and overwhelming.

We quickly realized that we didn’t have enough of many of the medical supplies needed for his care. The support we received from Clemy’s Crew was an incredible blessing. We were able to purchase additional saline bullets, trach ties, and so many other essential supplies that we either didn’t receive or simply didn’t have enough of when we came home.

The application process was incredibly simple, and the support we received meant more than I can express.

There are times when a little kindness can mean everything. Clemy’s Crew was that kindness for our family, and we are incredibly grateful.
